Festival-goers who remember Dunedin’s glorious performance of Monteverdi’s ‘Vespers’ a few years ago will want to plunge into the turbulent waters of his secular music in this programme.
Dunedin Consort’s singers and instrumentalists unite in a ravishing selection of madrigals about love, loss and war from his 6th, 7th and 8th Books – ardent, vivid music evoking the world of Monteverdi’s great operas in microcosm.
We are sorry to announce that Nicolas Mulroy has had to withdraw from this concert. He will be replaced by tenor Christopher Bowen. The programme will remain as advertised.
