What are they?
Every year Dunedin Consort opens its doors to the community to run a series of choral workshops for amateur singers. Whether you are new to singing or a long-serving choir member, you will have the chance to enjoy working on both familiar and lesser-known repertoire, with input and coaching from Dunedin’s professional singers. The aim of these workshops is to brush up on some skills, learn some new music and above all have fun!
Who, what and where?
We’re thrilled to be bringing back our much-loved choral workshops this season. Led by Mhairi Lawson, the workshops offer a unique opportunity to explore different choral repertoire and sharpen your ensemble-singing skills. This year’s sessions will focus on Purcell’s celebrated opera Dido and Aeneas. While some experience with reading music is helpful, the workshops are open to anyone interested in improving and honing their skills.
Dates
This seasons choral workshops will be taking place in early 2021, and we will publish the dates in the Autumn.
Great! Where do I sign up?
Bookings will open later this year. Places are limited and you are advised to book early, as our workshops are usually very popular! Tickets are £35 (free for students and under 18s) — this includes score hire and light refreshments throughout the day.

‘Fantastic day! Mhairi’s delivery was fun, informative and inclusive. I also enjoyed meeting other singers from all over Scotland.’
‘There was great instruction about breathing, word pronunciation, relaxation and tongue position – all coming together to help create a better sound. It increases your confidence in your own singing potential.’
