Dunedin Consort launches its 30th Anniversary season with RCS partnership
Scotland’s award-winning Baroque ensemble, Dunedin Consort launches its 30th anniversary season in Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Perth with an Italian influenced programme for strings which concludes with Bach’s famous Concerto for 2 violins.
This special season also welcomes a new partnership between Dunedin Consort and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS) in Glasgow to help develop the future of Historic Practice Performance in Scotland. The partnership sees the ensemble become resident in the Conservatoire’s Stevenson Hall across the season with Bach’s Italy in September, Sean Shibe: Scottish Lute in March, and Cantatas & Concertos featuring countertenor Alexander Chance in May where the ensemble will also perform side-by-side with players from the Royal Conservatoire. Students will also participate in workshops, masterclasses and clinics alongside Dunedin Consort’s musicians.
