Current and future engagements of Owen Willetts include Castle Crow in John Abrahamsen’s The Snow Queen Bayerische Staatsoper München, Fernando, Re di Castiglia (title role) Händel Festpiele Halle and London Handel Festival, Oberon A Midsummer Night’s dream Virginia Opera and Staatsoper Hannover, Orlando (title role) Staatstheater Darmstadt, Gluck’s Orfeo (title) Opera Queensland, Ottone L’Incoronazione di Poppea Pinchgut Opera, Theater Aachen, Tolomeo Giulio Cesare Theater Bonn, Tullio Arminio Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, Theater an der Wien and Göttingen, a tour of Mozart and Bach Les Musiciens du Louvre, Eustazio Rinaldo, Giustino (title role) Lautten Compagney Berlin, and Handel’s Il trionfo del tempo e del disinganno Opernhaus Halle.

In past seasons Owen sang Orlando (title role) Theater Heilbronn, Halle Händelfestspiele, Helicon Caligula Staatsoper Hannover, Andronico Tamerlano Buxton Festival, Farinelli Farinelli and the King Duke of York Theatre, Narciso Agrippina Oldenburgisches Staatstheater, Händel Festspiele Göttingen and Brisbane Baroque, Summer The Fairy Queen and soloist Bach’s St. John Passion Nationale Reisopera, Handel’s Giulio Cesare (title) Finnish National Opera, and Orfeo Orfeo ed Euridice and Arsace in Handel’s Partenope Boston Baroque. Other engagements include Handel’s Messiah Portland Baroque Orchestra, and Anfinomus/Humano fragilitata Il Ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria Birmingham Opera Company (Graham Vick).

In concerts, Owen has performed with Les Musicians de Louvre, Telemann Chamber Orchestra, Vancouver Early Music Festival, Ulster Orchestra, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Lautten Compagney. He has worked with many leading names in historical performance, including Laurence Cummings, Christian Curnyn, Emmanuelle Haim, Marc Minkowsi, Martin Pearlman, Howard Arman and Raphael Pichon.

Owen was a choral scholar at Lichfield Cathedral and studied at the Royal Academy of Music, with Noelle Barker, Iain Leadingham and David Lowe.
