Lithuanian soprano Lina Dambrauskaitė is currently studying with Lillian Watson and Jonathan Papp in the Royal Academy Opera training programme. She completed her classical singing studies at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels with Sigute Stonyte at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.
In 2015 she made her opera debut as Barbarina in Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro at Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre. Lina also sang the role of Thais in Handel’s Alexander’s Feast, Yniold in Debussy’s Pellėas et Mėlisande (Vilnius City Opera), Semele in Handel’s Semele (Baroque Opera Theatre). She performed in Germany, Italy, South Korea, China and represented Lithuania at the Universal Exposition “Expo 2015“ held in Milan.
She has frequently performed solo roles in Bach’s St John’s Passion, Mass in B minor, cantatas, Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem (In King’s College Chapel); she was also a soloist in Mahler’s Symphony no. 4 and Haydn’s The Creation (with Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla).
In November of 2017 Lina made her London debut as Zerlina in Royal Academy Opera’s production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni, she also performed as Lauretta in Bizet’s operetta Le Docteur Miracle with RAO. She received dazzling reviews for singing the title role in Handel’s Semele (conducted by Laurence Cummings, Royal Academy Opera) and singing Le Feu/Le Rossignol in Ravel’s L’Enfant et les sortileges (RAO).
Lina’s upcoming engagements include singing the title role in Janacek’s Cunning Little Vixen with Royal Academy Opera and joining the International Opera Studio of Zurich Opera in September of 2019.
