Soprano, Bridging the Gap
Aberdonian soprano Eilidh Bisset is currently in the final year of her Bachelor’s degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, under the tutelage of Margaret Izatt.
Eilidh began singing with NYCoS, working her way from the Aberdeen Area choir at age 10, to singing with their chamber choir in 2021. Notable performances with NYCoS include Britten’s War Requiem and Mahler’s Symphony No. 8 (Edinburgh Festival, both under the baton of Daniel Harding). She has also performed with the RCS and RSNO in Vaughan Williams’ Sinfonia Antartica, conducted by Sir Andrew Davies.
Her operatic engagements include the chorus of the premiere of Rakhat-Bi Abdyssagin’s The Bruce. Eilidh also has a love of contemporary music, most recently premiering Sam K.’s The Gospel (According to the Machines) for voice and electronics at the RCS’ PLUG festival of new music.
Through her studies, she has been grateful to take part in masterclasses and workshops with musicians such as Judith Howarth and Juliet Fraser.
