Handel's Oratorio is deservedly one of the most popular works ever written. Handel's story of the Christ's life is infused with the composer's deep sense of humanity. Dunedin presents this work in the atmospheric settings of St Mary's Metropolitan Cathedral in Edinburgh and Perth's Concert hall at a time of the year in which its life affirming message makes most sense, the celebration of Christmas.
